Originally from the Laurentians and now based in Fort-Coulonge, in the Pontiac region of Quebec, Michèle AimPée Parent — known artistically as AimPée — is a visual artist, poet, and author. Her creative practice, grounded in ongoing research and critical reflection, engages with pressing contemporary issues such as climate change, women’s rights, urbanization, and the human relationship with nature. With a disciplined and evolving approach, she continually challenges herself to step out of her comfort zone to foster artistic growth. Mindful of the ecological impact of art, she incorporates salvaged and repurposed materials into her work, turning ethical constraints into creative opportunities. While varied in subject matter, her artworks are rooted in geometric forms, enriched by a sense of movement, balanced composition, and a vibrant, dynamic use of color.
