The works of Nancy Dagenais-Elliott radiate energy and inspiration. Since 2008, Nancy Dagenais-Elliott has painted on a black background using bold and colorful brush or knife strokes that reflect her life and personality. She takes particular pleasure in seeing her subjects—drawn from the nature surrounding her native Pontiac—emerge so quickly on a dark canvas. Her paintings have a relaxed style that draws the eye from one corner of the canvas to the other. She has participated in numerous exhibitions in the Pontiac and the National Capital Region, and in August 2005, Ottawa Life Magazine featured the artist and her work. Nancy Dagenais-Elliott continually seeks to enrich her artistic journey by participating in a variety of workshops, both nationally—Tweed (Ontario), Baie-Saint-Paul (Quebec)—and internationally (ICSCIS International School in Tuscany, Italy). It was the Italian landscapes that inspired her to seek out color and light in her paintings. One of her works was published in the exhibition catalogue Kangaroos, Beavers and Gorgonzola. Her paintings can be found in private collections, including those of Zachary Richard, Jean Lapointe, and Chef Michael Smith
