Financial assistance and technical support is available to entrepreneurs on MRC Pontiac territory through our business advisors, within the economic development team.
Whether you are self-employed, a small business owner, or manager of a multi-national, our team of business advisors can help you in the start-up, expansion, management and implementation of your business on MRC Pontiac territory.
Our financial assistance programs consist of loans (FLI-FLS funds), or grants from the Fonds Régions et Ruralités (FRR) for business start-up or expansion as stipulated in the MRC Pontiac’s Business Support Policy and the MRC Pontiac’s Development Priorities.

Fonds Région et ruralité (FRR)
The current FRR agreement between the MRC Pontiac and the ministère des Affaires municipales et de l’Habitation (MAMH) has been in effect since April 1, 2025, and is in place for a period of three (3) years, being 2025-2028. It has a budget of $5,138,988, reserved for the implementation of its Territorial Development component; and an amount of $2,824,932 is reserved for the Vitalization component.
These two components are managed through a single Intervention Framework, created by the MRC Pontiac, outlining its intervention priorities and the impediments that concern us.
Cultural Funding
It was during the 1990s that the Pontiac cultural community began to mobilize in order to acquire the resources and coordination it needed to ensure its vitality and growth. Four public consultations were held from April to May 2004 to gather the opinions and desires of the population regarding the cultural future of the Pontiac. These consultations were the source of inspiration for the draft Pontiac Cultural Policy, presented to the public on September 18, 2004. The Pontiac Cultural Policy was unanimously adopted by the Council of Mayors on September 27, 2004. In November 2025, the Council of Mayors adopted a revised version of this policy that better reflects the new realities of the cultural sector.

Policy regarding donations, sponsorships, representation and bursaries
The MRC Pontiac has reinstated its donations and sponsorship funding program, but under a new name and with a few modifications and clarifications.
