$2,000,000 in funding available for revitalization projects under the Regions and Rurality Fund (FRR) in the MRC Pontiac

Press Release

Litchfield, QC – June 28, 2023 — Call for projects – $2,000,000 in funding available for revitalization projects under the Regions and Rurality Fund in the MRC Pontiac

Call for Projects

The MRC Pontiac is implementing its vitalization agreement, which was signed with the Ministère des Affaires municipales et de l’Habitation on November 15, 2021. This agreement stems from the Regions and Rurality Fund and encourages the mobilization of elected officials and municipal administrations to give their territory a new lease on life.

The main objective of the vitalization agreement is to help anchor actions for the future of the region and imagine the desirable future of the MRC Pontiac.

The call for projects concerns the entire MRC Pontiac territory. A prioritization of projects directly affecting the Q5 municipalities will be taken into consideration during the analysis of submissions.

As part of its vitalization agreement, in 2023 the MRC Pontiac is prioritizing the following vitalization axes:

  1. Economic development
  2. Urban development
  3. Natural development
  4. Community development

“I invite eligible organizations to submit a project that will help improve their living environment. The initiatives will undoubtedly have socio-economic spin-offs that will benefit the citizens of the MRC Pontiac,” says Andrée Laforest, Minister of Municipal Affairs.

“I’m convinced that the people of the MRC have good ideas and interesting projects to revitalize their part of the country. I thank them for the efforts they will make to improve it and make it even more attractive,” says Mathieu Lacombe, Minister responsible for the Outaouais region.

“The MRC Pontiac is very grateful to the provincial government for making these funds available to help us revitalize our territory. With this second call for projects, our local municipalities, NGOs and private companies have an excellent opportunity to submit their exciting projects to improve the quality of life of our citizens and our communities,” says Jane Toller, Warden of the MRC Pontiac.

ELIGIBLE BENEFICIARIES

  • Cooperatives and social economy enterprises (excluding the financial sector);
  • Non-profit organizations;
  • Aboriginal band councils;

  • Private companies (with the exception of the financial sector);
  • Municipalities.

Amount available for this call: $2,000,000
Launch date: June 28, 2023
