The Quebec Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing has invited the population to participate in one of their “Je me présente aux élections municipales 2021” information sessions, which will be held the September 2, 9 and 16. The ministry would like to encourage Quebecers to take part in municipal elections and perhaps stand as a municipal councillor or mayor.

These sessions will go over the nomination process, municipal organization and the role of elected officials, to provide a better understanding of municipal politics. Those who would like to participate must register using the links below.

The “Present Yourself” campaign is a government initiative to increase the number of candidates running in the next municipal election, scheduled for November 7, 2021. Specific components for women and youth have been designed to increase the representation of these groups on municipal councils.
