The MRC Pontiac announces the return of the recreational hockey program for youths aged 6 to 12 years old

The MRC Pontiac wishes to inform the population that the recreational hockey program for children aged 6 to 12 years old is back again this season. This program allows youngsters to learn the basics of ice hockey while having fun. It’s an ideal opportunity for kids to cultivate and explore their recreational hockey potential in a fun and motivating environment.

Classes are led by renowned coach Darcy Findlay, former captain of the Pontiac Senior Commets. He is recognized as a high-performance hockey player, both physically and offensively. A graduate of Bemidji State University in Minnesota, Darcy has also played in the North American Hockey League, the Canadian Junior Hockey League and the Quebec Junior AAA Hockey League.

The program is offered at the Shawville Arena and at the Centre de Loisirs des Draveurs Century 21 in Fort-Coulonge. Classes will run from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. according to the schedule below, from November 5, 2023 to February 11, 2024. The cost is $85 for 4 sessions or $155 for 8 sessions.

Sessions follow this schedule:

Shawville Arena: November 5, 2023; December 3, 2023; January 21, 2024; February 4, 2024.

Centre de Loisirs des Draveurs Century 21: November 12, 2023; December 10, 2023; January 14, 2024; February 11, 2024.

Full hockey equipment is mandatory to participate in the sessions.
