News and Press Releases

The Pontiac MRC concluded on April 10th its series of five public meetings to present the initial business analysis for the Energy-from-Waste (EFW) project. These MRC-initiated public presentations had been announced on March 21st and were held in Isle-aux-Allumettes (March 25th), Fort-Coulonge (March 27th), Shawville (April 3rd), Campbell’s Bay (April 9th) and Otter Lake (April 10th). At these sessions, Corey Spence, mayor of Isle-aux-Allumettes and Jane Toller, Warden of the MRC Pontiac, presented the project’s initial business analysis, prepared by Deloitte and Ramboll. The many participants in the public meetings had the opportunity to ask several questions, and the MRC would like to thank them for their contribution to the discussion on the project.

The MRC is making public the summary presentation of the initial business analysis for the EFW project, prepared by Deloitte, and a document prepared by the MRC summarizing the background to the process, the MRC’s priorities and the highlights of the initial analysis. These documents were prepared following the adoption by the Council of Mayors on October 25th, 2023, of Resolution C. M. EX-2023-10-05.
