Gatineau, October 6, 2022 – La Ruche, Québec’s leader in crowdfunding, is making has officially announced its arrival in the Outaouais region. The event was inaugurated with the help of several ambassadors and representatives of Gatineau City Hall, the RCMs of Papineau, Pontiac, Vallée-de-la-Gatineau and Collines-de-l’Outaouais as well as their financial partners from the ministère de l’Économie et de l’Innovation (MEI) and Desjardins.

La Ruche Outaouais will bring the ideas of regional entrepreneurs, citizens and organizations to life. The organization will also assist them in starting up their projects, business development, growth and idea validation—all thanks to its renowned crowdfunding platform.

Support and local spin-offs

The management of La Ruche Outaouais will be overseen by François Boudreault, Regional Director, a successful entrepreneur. To offer close and personalized support to each project, he will work with a group of advisors experienced in crowdfunding and additional financing as well as an extensive network of local ambassadors from different fields of expertise. To date, 15 projects have started; as part of special initiatives in the Outaouais region, they have been very successful. Altogether, they have generated more than $1,850,000 in spin-offs for the region.

Financing a project or idea is not always easy for a young entrepreneur, an organization or citizen with little or no funding experience. La Ruche allows them to bring their ideas to fruition. Otherwise, these ideas may have never seen the light of day,” said Frédéric Auger, President and CEO of the organization. “La Ruche Outaouais will not only help propel projects in the region but also generate significant economic spin-offs. We thank our partners for believing in our mission and supporting all our initiatives.”

Currently, there are four crowdfunding campaigns that are already online: Écoles écocitoyennes de l’Outaouais program, Brasseurs de Montebello, Club de course Bouge Bouge and Café Autiste.
