{"id":166318,"date":"2023-10-26T09:42:04","date_gmt":"2023-10-26T13:42:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mrcpontiac.qc.ca\/?p=166318"},"modified":"2023-12-08T09:42:41","modified_gmt":"2023-12-08T14:42:41","slug":"public-notice-public-consultation-on-the-fire-safety-cover-plan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mrcpontiac.qc.ca\/en\/public-notice-public-consultation-on-the-fire-safety-cover-plan\/","title":{"rendered":"PUBLIC NOTICE \u2013 PUBLIC CONSULTATION ON THE FIRE SAFETY COVER PLAN"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The MRC Pontiac invites the population to participate in the public consultation on the revision of the Fire Safety Cover Plan.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>PUBLIC NOTICE<\/strong>&nbsp;is hereby given that the draft revised Fire Safety Cover Plan, prepared in accordance with the Fire Safety Act and whose main purpose is to provide for the organization of fire safety on the territory of the MRC Pontiac, will be presented for public consultation on&nbsp;<strong><u>November 2, 2023 at 7:00 p.m.<\/u><\/strong>&nbsp;in the Salle Elsie Gibbons of the MRC Pontiac.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All interested parties can consult the&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/mrcpontiac.qc.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/Projet-de-SCRI-MRC-de-Pontiac-2023-10-01.pdf\">2023 MRC Pontiac\u2019s draft revised fire safety cover plan<\/a>&nbsp;(French only) and send their comments by e-mail to&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:mrc@mrcpontiac.qc.ca\">mrc@mrcpontiac.qc.ca<\/a>, by phone at 819 648-5689, ext. 242 or by mail to the following address:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sch\u00e9ma de couverture de risques<br>MRC de Pontiac<br>602 route 301 N.<br>Campbell\u2019s Bay, QC J0X 1K0&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>History<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On October 10, 2011, the MRC Pontiac\u2019s Fire Safety Cover Plan (SCRI) came into effect, following its certification by the Minist\u00e8re de la S\u00e9curit\u00e9 publique on June 22, 2011. The Fire Safety Cover Plan is a territory-wide fire safety planning document that includes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A complete picture of municipal fire safety resources and measures (equipment, response times, human resources training, prevention program, municipal bylaws, water supply, etc.);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The objectives to be achieved to deal with the risks present on the territory;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Actions to be taken by local municipalities and fire departments to achieve the objectives of the Fire Safety Cover Plan.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In concrete terms, the application of the Fire Safety Cover Plan will increase fire safety on the territory of the MRC Pontiac and reduce the loss of life and property due to fire. As required by the Minist\u00e8re de la S\u00e9curit\u00e9 publique, the MRC is responsible for fire safety planning, taking into account all the resources available on its territory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/mrcpontiac.qc.ca\/en\/list-of-committees-of-the-mrc-pontiac\/\">fire safety committee<\/a>&nbsp;made up of elected officials, general managers and firefighters has been set up to implement the plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"http:\/\/chrome-extension\/\/efaidnbmnnnibpcajpcglclefindmkaj\/https:\/\/mrcpontiac.qc.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/Revised-Fire-Safety-Cover-Plan-2017-Pontiac-MRC-Translation.pdf\">View the Fire Safety Cover Plan 2017<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Subsequently, a revised version of the schema was adopted by the MRC in 2016, which came into force on May 1, 2017, following the attestation of conformity issued on March 24, 2017 by the MSP. This Scheme and its follow-up via its implementation plan has enabled municipalities to improve their fire service while maintaining the momentum of the very first Scheme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The objectives of this edition of the sch\u00e9ma de couverture de risque have been met, and it is currently in the process of being revised.
