Litchfield, October 17, 2022 – In memoriam – Maurice Beauregard (1979-2022) <\/em><\/p>\n

Maurice was a member of the Council of Mayors at the MRC since November of 2017 and was previously a councillor in Campbell\u2019s Bay since 2013. He was a strong advocate on many issues, including forestry, budget issues, public safety, human resources, and revitalization. Recently, he was elected president of our vitalization committee. He was extremely proud of Campbell\u2019s Bay and had great vision and plans for its future. While in office, he accomplished many improvements, especially for the revitalization of his municipality\u2019s downtown core and outdoor facilities. It was wonderful to be able to attend the grand-opening of the new playground just a couple of weeks ago and to witness the well-deserved inauguration and naming of \u2018\u2019Maurice Beauregard Park\u2019\u2019.<\/p>\n

Maurice also served over 15 years as a Lieutenant firefighter and first responder for the Campbell\u2019s Bay and Litchfield Fire Department.\u00a0He was extremely proud of his involvement as a firefighter and was always there to speak up on important public safety issues when sitting on the Council of Mayors.<\/p>\n

We offer our deepest sympathy and condolences to Kelly, Hunter, Carter, and the rest of the Beauregard family – we know how much they will miss him. He will be strongly missed at the MRC council. Recently, we were so proud to award him the honour of the Pontiac Paddle of Accomplishment while he was still with us. He will always be remembered as a true champion for the Pontiac!<\/p>\n

Friends may call at Hayes Funeral Home,\u00a0134 Centre Street, Shawville Quebec,\u00a0on Wednesday, October 19 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.\u00a0 Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, October 20 at 11:00 a.m. in St. John the Evangelist Church, 160 Front street, Campbell\u2019s Bay, Quebec.\u00a0\u00a0In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Campbell\u2019s Bay and Litchfield fire department would be appreciated.<\/p>\n
