The glaciers start their retreat about 15,000 years ago, allowing animals and humans alike to enter the region for the first time. Five years later, Br\u00fbl\u00e9 leads Samuel Champlain and his expedition deep into the Ottawa Valley seeking lumber and fur to ship back to Europe.
