Four public consultations were held between April and May 2004 to gather the population\u2019s opinions and aspirations regarding the cultural future of the Pontiac.<\/p><p data-start=\"356\" data-end=\"662\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">These consultations inspired the preliminary version of the Cultural Policy of the MRC Pontiac, adopted by the Council of Mayors on September 27, 2004. In November 2025, the Council of Mayors adopted a revised version of this policy, which more accurately reflects the new realities of the cultural sector.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-23a0b153 e-con-full e-flex e-con e-child\" data-id=\"23a0b153\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-4d57cce3 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"4d57cce3\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Since then, we have experienced many growths in our Pontiac cultural life. This orientation takes into account the diversity of the regions and advocates equity in interventions. It seeks to ensure the presence of culture in all regions and the daily lives of citizens by acting on cultural vitality. To this end, financial support is provided for agreements concluded with municipalities and RCMs throughout Quebec. This approach should have the following effects:<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-99e10cf elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"99e10cf\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<ul><li>Increase citizen participation in the cultural development of communities;<\/li><li>Strengthen the local identity and sense of belonging of communities;<\/li><li>Strengthen economic, social and democratic vitality.<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-473c89e e-con-full e-flex e-con e-child\" data-id=\"473c89e\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-71db995 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"71db995\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The partnerships established through this program are based on a common understanding of territorial issues and challenges. They take into account the diversity of citizens\u2019 needs and allow for modulation of approaches from one territory to another according to local and regional priorities. The agreements are concluded with respect to the mission of each party. The parties agree on the objectives to be achieved and agree on the sharing of responsibilities and their respective contributions.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-b9f9d51 e-con-full e-flex e-con e-child\" data-id=\"b9f9d51\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-b4a120f elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"b4a120f\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h4>Objectives<\/h4><p>The objectives of the program, in all administrative regions of Quebec, are to:<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-598818a elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"598818a\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<ol><li>Promote a participatory and committed cultural life;<\/li><li>Enhance the identity elements of the territory;<\/li><li>Position culture as a driver of sustainable economic, social and territorial development.<\/li><\/ol>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-e61c5a1 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"e61c5a1\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The Program allows for the conclusion of cultural development agreements. overall development of the MRC Pontiac, we have determined three (3) basic principles that establish the foundations of our Pontiac cultural policy and social cohesion and community mobilization;<\/li><li>Strengthening the sense of identity while respecting the diversity and cultural uniqueness of Pontiac;<\/li><li>Accessibility and participation of the greatest number of citizens to culture as a guarantee of an increased quality of life.<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element the MRC Pontiac, we have taken on the mission as Pontiac residents to promote our culture on the territory through these fundamental principles.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-68381607 e-con-full e-flex e-con e-child\" data-id=\"68381607\" agreement targeting several aspects of cultural development;<\/li><li>Promote the integration of cultural content in community events and activities;<\/li><li>Develop and support initiatives that provide the citizens of the Pontiac MRC with better opportunities to access and participate in cultural activities;<\/li><li>Encourage the development of annual cultural programming for the entire Pontiac within and outside the cultural infrastructure network.
