Litchfield, December 14, 2020 – The MRC Pontiac has installed the first public charging station for electric vehicles of its territory
Today, the MRC Pontiac unveil the newest addition to our offices in Litchfield: a public charging station for electric vehicles. We are proud to now be able to offer this service to residents and visitors of the Pontiac alike.
This initiative is part of the SAUVéR project—a car-sharing system with electric vehicles for municipalities, organizations, associations and businesses that wish to develop an alternative mode of public transportation for citizens.
The new charging station is a 240-volt (level 2) and is part of Hydro Québec’s Electric Circuit, which has stations installed in the parking lots of its numerous partners across Québec and Eastern Ontario. The Electric Circuit is Canada’s first public charging network for electric vehicles. It offers both 240-volt and 400-volt charging stations.
Users of the circuit must first become a member to obtain a user card. This card allows a vehicle to be recharged at any charging station on the network. Users can also download an app to find all existing charging stations. For more information, visit their website: https://lecircuitelectrique.com/
