Emergency Preparedness

The purpose of preparing for an emergency is to protect people and property against disasters. This protection is provided through mitigation measures, emergency response planning, response operations in actual or imminent situations and recovery operations after the event.

MRC Pontiac municipalities are in the process of revising their emergency response plan.

We encourage everyone to prepare themselves for any type of situations by visiting the Ministries website at:

  • Public security ministry or

Preparing for disasters

An emergency can happen at any moment. Follow our tips to prepare for a variety of emergency situations and ensure your safety and that of your loved ones.

  • Prepare your Family Safety Plan and make it known to everyone in your home.
  • Ask about the disasters that may occur in your community, and learn how to cope with them.
  • Test your knowledge on emergency preparedness with 72 hours: preparing for emergency situations.

For more information, contact Julien Gagnon, Fire and Public Safety Coordinator, at 819-648-5689 ext. 242 or by email at j.gagnon@mrcpontiac.qc.ca
