Public Service Announcement – Military training in Pontiac Regional County Municipality

Public Service Announcement

Military training in Pontiac Regional County Municipality

May 24, 2023 – Ottawa – National Defence / Canadian Armed Forces

Residents of Mansfield-et-Pontefract, Fort Coulonge and Portage du Fort are advised that personnel from the Canadian Special Operations Forces Command will be conducting training in the vicinity of Chenaux Dam on May 27 and 28 and Davidson Mill, on May 30 and 31, 2023.

At both locations, residents may notice an increase in military and civilian pattern vehicles, as well as uniformed military personnel with firearms, both day and night. Near Davidson Mill, residents may hear noises associated with helicopters, explosives and small firearms throughout the day and night.

All efforts will be made to ensure that disruption to the community will be at a minimum. The Canadian Special Operations Forces Command is grateful for the support and understanding of the communities within which it conducts valuable training.
