The Coopérative de solidarité Houblon Pontiac (CSHP) was awarded the Prix de la Fondation 2016 of the Foundation for the Development of Cooperatives in the Outaouais last night at Moore Farm in Gatineau. This prize comes with a $7000 grant that will allow the cooperative to launch a marketing plan for its hops processing service of high quality pellets for beer production.
It is with great honour that the MRC Pontiac congratulates the members of the board of directors at the CSHP for this prize. The MRC has supported the development of the hops industry in the Pontiac since the first trials in 2009. It also supported the CSHP since its foundation in 2012 and has become a first tier financial partner in the acquisition of a hops-pelletizing chain uniquely found in Québec.
The Foundation Prize is awarded to recognize and support a project that shows the capacity of cooperatives to respond to the economic and social challenges of their territory.
The CSHP was also a finalist in the Conseil québécois de la coopération et de la mutualité “Innovation” category at the Découvertes Coopératives Gala held in Quebec city on October 11, 2016.
