Campbell’s Bay, December 12, 2018– Following a decision taken by the Regional council last June, the MRC Pontiac is happy to announce its new partnership agreement with the Pontiac Tourism Association (ATP) to form a Tourism Advisory Committee. The committee is made up four representatives of the MRC Pontiac, including its tourism marketing officer and three mayors, as well as four members of ATP, including its president and three elected members of its board of directors.
The committee is mandated to inform and advise the tourism marketing officer to compliment his work done at the MRC Pontiac. The four members of ATP will be able to share their experiences, strategies and contacts in the tourism industry, as well as share local industry feedback. Likewise, the three mayors can relay municipal information and news, as well as tourism oriented discussions of the Regional Council.
“We at the MRC are excited to work closely with the Pontiac Tourism Association, because we believe tourism will bring economic development and growth to the Pontiac,” said MRC Pontiac Warden Jane Toller of the new partnership agreement. “We are pleased to seize this opportunity together, as together we are stronger.”
The advisory committee is set up for a period of five years and will ensure close collaboration between the local tourism association and the MRC. The first committee meeting will be held on Thursday December 13th 2018.
