
Chichester is a township and a village on the north shore of the Ottawa River. Nestled between the river and the Laurentians, Chichester shares many of its public services and shops with the town of Chapeau (l’Isle-aux-Allumettes) a short bridge across the river.
Nichabau is the scenic hamlet of Chichester in what used to be referred to as Poupore’s Limits. It is noted for its great number of square log homes.
Farming, lumbering, and tourism are the predominent economic activity of Chichester.
