Campbell’s Bay, March 16, 2020— Given recent developments with the COVID-19 outbreak and in response to Quebec Premier François Legault’s call for action, the MRC is implementing a series of measures to minimize the spread of the virus in our region.
- The MRC is postponing the public consultations in the municipalities for the Draft Strategic Vision Statement for the Pontiac to a later date
- The MRC is restricting public access to its offices located at 602 Route 301 N in Campbell’s Bay. Until further notice:
- SAAQ payments, payments of municipal fines, and TNO lease and tax payments:
- Will only be available on Mondays and Tuesdays
- The MRC encourages the population to use other methods of payment, such as the Internet
- For any other MRC service:
- Our staff will still be available to serve the public by telephone (819-648-5689, ext. 210) or by e-mail (mrc@mrcpontiac.qc.ca)
- SAAQ payments, payments of municipal fines, and TNO lease and tax payments:
- In addition, the MRC Pontiac has implemented telecommuting measures and is evaluating the possibility of extending this practice to as many services as possible.
- A 14-day isolation period is imposed on MRC employees returning from a foreign trip.
- Until further notice, MRC Regional Council will be closed to the public.
The situation will be re-evaluated on a daily basis as new information becomes available. We will keep the population of Pontiac and the municipalities informed of any changes.
As Warden Jane Toller mentioned in her statement to the people of Pontiac on March 13th, these difficult times are first and foremost an opportunity to express our collective solidarity.
We encourage everyone to continue to follow the hygiene and precautionary practices established by the Province and the World Health Organization: https://www.quebec.ca/sante/problemes-de-sante/a-z/coronavirus-2019/
- Special attention must be paid to the elderly, especially individuals 70 years of age and over, since they are at greater risk of complications.
- Every individual also has their part to play to reduce the risk of spreading viruses
