Public Safety and Fire
“Fire prevention is your responsibility!” is the theme of this year’s Fire Prevention Week activities, held from October 4 to 10, 2020.
Given the current situation of Covid-19, the fire services and fire prevention in your region will use social media to promote prevention.
Don’t forget that, according to the municipal by-law, you must have in every home:
- one (1) working smoke detector on each floor;
- Check the expiry date, if you are unsure please contact your fire service;
- If you use or have a combustion system, you must have a carbon monoxide detector.
It should not be forgotten that nearly 50% of fires in homes are related to distraction or human error.
Throughout the week, you will be able to see activities and tips on our social networks. The best way to deal with any eventuality is to be prepared. It is recommended to have an evacuation drill and a meeting point outside the house.
Have a good week of prevention!
