Call for Artists – Pontiac Regional Art Collection

The MRC Pontiac is ready to receive proposals from local artists for the next piece in its regional art collection.

To be eligible, artists must be residents of the MRC Pontiac, and present one of their own original art pieces for cosideration. A committee will assess all proposals based on a set of criteria, such as quality of the work, the artistic approach, the artist’s distinction in the local and regional cultural environment, the cost of the work, the constraints of conservation, restoration or display, and the Regional Collection’s goals for media and works diversity (sculpture, visual arts, crafts, etc.)

The regional art collection is a public compilation, created in 2008. The objective is to acquire pieces by artists who have marked the Pontiac artistic community over time. The collection showcases the talent and artistic diversity of the region, and is made easily accessible to the public by being on permanent display at the Pontiac MRC building.
