The Land Use Planning and Development Plan

The Land Use Planning and Development Plan is the planning document that establishes guidelines for the physical organization of the MRC territory. It allows the coordination of choices and decisions affecting all impacted municipalities, the Government, its ministries and agents. The Land Use Planning and Development Plan is firstly a document of intention organized and designed in such a manner as to reveal a regional vision for economic, social and environmental development.

To be effective, local municipalities’ programs and by-laws must respect the Land Use Planning and Development Plan.

The MRC Pontiac’s first Land Development Plan came into effect on September 13, 1988. On September 27, 1993, the MRC started the revision process which was completed on February 23, 2001.
