Projects
Between 2005 and 2007, the first Cultural Development Agreement resulted in a number of projects: the creation of the first Cultural Calendar and the Pontiac Church Tour, local initiative support such as the Historical Tour of Norway Bay and the Clarendon Interpretation Booklet...
For more information, see the 2005-2007 Agreement report.
In 2008, the MRC Pontiac and the ministère de la Culture, des Communications et de la Condition Féminine signed a second agreement, which provided for investments in new projects.
The MRC/CLD's Cultural Development Department has since focused on the following projects:
- Creation of an interpretive trail at Oiseau Rock;
- On-going support of the Pontiac Artist Association;
- Development and management of a Local Initiatives Support program;
- Annual production of the Cultural Calendar;
- Promotion of the Pontiac's Religious Heritage through the "Church Rhapsody" festival;
- Development of cultural tourism through the creation of a tourism route;
- Development of a Cultural Activities and Live Entertainment program throughout the Pontiac;
- Completion of the Built Heritage Inventory;
- Support to municipalities in the development of their local heritage and urban core revitalisation;
- Coordination of the proposed restoration and conversion of Bryson House in Mansfield-et-Pontefract;
- Participation in land use planning projects to include culture, heritage and local history.
