Photographer's notes:

 

I had driven past this old United Church in Waltham on several occasions knowing that, one day, it would make a nice image for my camera. I wondered how old the church was and which was older, the church or the big oak that stood guard at its side. The chance to take the photograph came on a cold (-28C) December day in 2007 in the early afternoon. I liked the way the shadows of the branches seemed to hug the church, as if to hold it safe.
